Come with expectation

I was struck recently by this quote I read from a RT Kendall book Worshiping God.

'A vital ingredient of worship is expectancy: believing that something good is going to happen. Nothing is sadder than going to church when you aren't expecting anything to happen, and even know that nothing is going to happen. When you feel that way - what a surprise - nothing does happen! Yet so many people throughout the world go to church feeling like that. It is not surprising that churches are closing down. You would be shocked if you knew how many evangelical churches in Britain have not had a conversion in five years - and are not expecting to see any conversions.'

So come along to church this week with expectation that God will meet with you here and is at work in your life.
