As we
are in the middle of a series of studies on Paul’s letter to the church in
Ephesus, one was particularly appropriate as it came from Ephesians 2:8, “it is
by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God."
The
other quotes the well-known verse from John’s Gospel 3:16: “for God so loved
the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life." This is the timeless message that it is the
duty of the church to proclaim.
