Fun@4

At today's Fun@4 we looked at the story of David & Goliath. Here was our rather large Goliath waiting to greet everyone as they arrived!

Thanks Anona for the great display board to welcome everyone.

And here are 2 young people dressed up like David in armour that was too big!

We enjoyed crafts (making a Goliath shield and chocolate 'rocks' which we put in a pouch). Games, including a relay race to dress up the 'David's' in the armour and throwing paper stones onto each others half of the church. We sang 'God's people aren't super brave superheroes' and 'Our God is Great Big God'. We listened to the Bible story and prayed together. Then we enjoyed a yummy tea and more games.
Thank you to all who came and to all who helped make it run so smoothly.
Our next event will be on Palm Sunday, together with the other local churches and will include a live donkey parade, not to be missed!

Afternoon Tea & Cakes

Thank you to the team who have just hosted another afternoon tea and cakes event. The fine china was out, a table full of homemade cakes and pastries and a raffle all helped to make this a great afternoon. Over £100 was raised for the local air ambulance and a good time was had by all.

Living for Christ

Here is a thought provoking comment I read this week...

You are writing a gospel
a chapter each day
by the words that you say
and the works that you do.
Men read what you write
disturbing or true.
What is the gospel
according to you?

What does how we live out our lives say to those around us who hear our words and witness our actions?

Called as Church

These were our preachers for Sunday morning in our All Together Service. EVERYONE :) Young and not so young, new to church and used to church we all have wisdom, insight, love, value, experiences and gifts to offer as family. It was great to reflect back on the last year to see all that God has been doing, and to listen and look for what God is doing next and to get involved with that! Where can we be love to everyday people in everyday circumstances with our extraordinary God.

Ignite - 24th January 7pm

Ignite is worship event for young people and young adults to connect with God wherever they're at in they life and faith, it includes, sung worship, videos, talk, creative activities to make the message personal and practical and lots of pudding. This time we'll be exploring the question, Can I make a difference? In a world that feels broken and chaotic, what real difference can we make.
New time of 7pm-8:15pm at St Paul's Church - Sunday 24th Jan.

Happy New Year!

I have just taken this photo outside church this morning! I noticed it at the start of the week but have been busy catching up after a post Christmas break.
As 2016 gets underway may good things spring forth and may God bless you richly with good things this year.
